God Works in a Grand Way at Peace Church!

We have worked diligently at Peace Church to bring the Word, the music, and the congregation closer together in a spiritual and physical way, as we address the desire to enhance our worship experience. Recent changes in late 2006 and early this year have included the choir¡¯s move from the chancel to the sanctuary floor, along with the move of our 5-foot Kohler & Campbell grand piano. This move has brought us a renewed energy in congregational singing and anthem presentation.

But then, we asked ourselves, is there a way that we can really fill our beautiful sanctuary with glorious sound each and every time we worship? Were we really offering God the very best in music?

Let the word of Christ
Dwell in you richly in all wisdom,
Teaching and admonishing one another
With psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
Singing with grace in your hearts to God.

A rare opportunity presented itself to us, an opportunity that only God could have provided. The University of Central Florida had made the decision to upgrade all of their keyboard instruments with the purchase of new instruments through the local piano dealership, a dealership with locations both in Altamonte Springs and Jacksonville. The dealership acquired the Baldwin concert grand from the university¡¯s concert hall in the trade. The purchase of this magnificent instrument was within our means, even if it was a step of faith. A piano fund was established, and it grew steadily. A trip to Altamonte Springs on March 9 to see and play the Baldwin confirmed the outstanding quality of this piano. Sunday, March 11, was a very special service for us as we entered worship needing $5,000.00 to complete the purchase and left the worship service knowing that God had once again provided for our needs. It was an exciting day on March 16 when we received delivery. We would love to share this worship experience with you. Also, we look forward to the dedication concert in late April. The date and time will be announced soon.
